The Most WTF Catfish: The TV Show Moments Ever
Do you froth on uncomfortable human interactions? Not like, IRL ones - the kind where you get to watch them on tv and not actually experience any of the sh*t going down. Same. And that's pretty much what Catfish: The TV Show is all about, people confronting other people who are lying to them, or they're lying to the people... whatever. It makes for some pretty cringe-worthy stuff, and we've rounded up the best of the best - the most f**ked up Catfish: The TV Show moments of all time...
1. Kya and Alyx
Kya contacted the Catfish team with an interesting request. She had already catfished her online love, Alyx (who she met on vampirefreaks.com) - and he had ZERO PROBLEM with the fact that she lied to him about her life and appearance through a fake profile. He was cool with it! She just wanted Nev and co to help her meet him. Except when she goes to meet him... he's not a he. Alyx was ALSO CATFISHING KYA and was IRL a a transgender male named Dani. And to make it more amazing - Kya still had the love feelings for Dani! So they got a fairy-tale ending. Adorable. Well, minus the lying.
2. Rod and Ebony
Hows this for f**ked - Rod comes to Nev and Max for help. He's lied to his online gf Ebony, building a fake profile called "KJ", and wooing her as him. Eventually in their relationship, Ebony revealed she wasn't actually a natural-born woman, but a transgender woman. Rod doesn't care about this at all - he loves her, and just wants to meet her to tell her personally. But then it gets wierd - Ebony turns out to be a natural born woman after all. With an 11 year old kid. And she's a lesbian. So what's she getting out of this relationship? Companionship - turns out Ebony was paying Rod's phone bills, part of the reason Rod kept in contact, and Ebony just enjoyed Rods company. So even with that sh*tstorm of events, they remained friends!
3. Jasmine and Mike
Jasmine has had a texting relationship (what?) with "Mike" for two years. TWO YEARS. And it's not because they live in different states - they legit live within fifteen minutes of each other. But haven't met. So that's already messed up enough, right? Well, when they finally DO meet (with the help of Nev and Max, obviously), it turns out that "Mike" is actually Jasmine's ex-boyfriend's CURRENT GIRLFRIEND Mhissy - Mhissy created the fake profile online to distract Jasmine, who was apparently a threat to Mhissy's relationship. When the two ladies sat down separately to tell Nev their story, Mhissy's version was that they had both fallen for the same guy, but when he chose Mhissy over Jasmine, Jasmine didn't take the hint and continued to be a problem. So the fake profile was to distract her - and bring on major payback in the big reveal.
4. Keyonnah and "Lil Bow Wow"
Usually, when you think you're online chatting to a famous rapper - you probably aren't. That's the sitch Keyonnah found herself in, when she "60% thought" she was dating the 00's rap star Lil Bow Wow. His "assistant" did send her $10k, so we can semi see how she thought this was legit. SEMI. Turns out "Lil Bow Wow" was actually a lesbian woman named Dee, who liked to pursue straight women because she found it more of a challenge.
