Alex Nation's Teen Mom Australia Episode 2 Recap
We are onto episode two and its business as usual! I feel like we are really starting to get to know the girls, their families and I'm loving how relatable they are.
Oh and yes, I slid into Sita's DM's to ask her about the Tongan medicine.
So, little Andrew had trouble feeding when he was a newborn so Sita's mother took them to go see a Tongan doctor where the doctor would massage his throat and chest and administrate a crushed-up leaf concoction via syringe into little Andrew's mouth. Sita confirmed that after a week, Baby was brand new! So there you have it, it's a legit thing.
Ammi and Jordy are still discussing their finances and having little disagreements on what they both believe they need for baby number two. Ammi is trying to convince Jordy to jump on board the Afterpay train! Don’t do it, it's a trap! A very addictive trap! Ammi starts showing Jordy all these nifty pram attachments she'd like to purchase, with Jordi's response being “It's not a rollercoaster, it's a pram." I pissed myself laughing! These two crack me up. I have to admit I was a little sad Jordy wasn't dressed in last week's kitchen attire.
Jordy finally got his full-time contract with work which means that their expanding family will be more financially stable. Later in the episode, we learn that Ammi works 4-5 nights a week delivering pizzas. This spoke volumes to me. I think it is so admirable that she is doing her bit to help contribute financially to their family as well as being a mum. I can so appreciate being with your child all day, all you want to do is get into some comfy clothes, put the little bugger to bed, grab a glass of vino and just chill the F out. But at the end of her busy days with Jiyah, she is taking her self off to work and that is damn impressive.
When I had my son Elijah there was a period where I was flat broke and the immense stress and anxiety I had when it came to my financial situation became almost debilitating. I had to put my pride aside, march myself in to Centrelink and put myself on the dole so I could support myself and my child. At the time I felt extremely embarrassed because I remember thinking there were so many people in there judging me, staring at me and it was so uncomfortable. I went home and cried and then thought sometimes in life we just have to do what we have to do to get by and it's really nothing to be ashamed about. So, it turns out that maybe, just maybe Katya (Ammi's sister) helps more than what we thought and she isn’t just buying Fruit Loops once in a blue moon!
Jordy and Katya start having a convo about Ammi being too hard on Katya and now I'm like "okay, these three seriously need to have a family meeting and sort their shit out before we see World War 3 break out in their household!" Batten down the hatches because I feel like it's brewing as Ammi is clearly very unhappy about the two of them talking about her when she's not around. Ahh family... sometimes they really do spark joy.
Next we met Sita's friend, Brodie. That whole scene reminded me so much of how difficult it was for me to connect with close friends after Elijah was born. Time was always short and I felt that I was in a completely different world to my friends. Brodie and Sita got real about how different her living sitch will be moving in with Thomson and his family. The change in dynamic is evidently huge and I could see Sita being a little concerned about this as she will feel like she is more of a guest in the home she will be living in. It seems Sita's fear of her dad is born from a deep love and respect for him. He is a totally reasonable guy, but she doesn't want to do anything that may disappoint or worse yet, hurt her father.
*Cue dramatic music* Sita's dad is washing her car and Sita starts the nerve racking dialogue with him by asking what his thoughts are on her and Thomson moving out. Can I just say, her dad management skills are brilliant! She dances around it by asking "Should we? Shouldn't we?" leaving it to be his decision (even though the decision has already been made). He was actually wonderfully encouraging and it ends up being such a precious moment. Sita became emotional and well... so did I! I think I ate a whole packet of TV Snacks.
Side note, Thomson please drop the knee and make your unofficial GF your official fiance!
So, Georgie’s family are suuuper keen on John. LOL. Georgie has taken little Evie to her nephew Kingston’s Birthday party, where her family start probing her on where she is at with John. She totally plays it down but it is evident that there are still feelings there and I mean can you blame her? He is the father of her child and once upon a time, they were madly in love. Georgie's family start expressing their concern of how Georgie and John are co-parenting as they feel that Evie doesn't have a routine. Routine is extremely important and makes parenting little tackers a hell of a lot easier. Georgie is hurt because she thinks John has gone back to dating Amy who was actually Georgie's friend... ahhhhh hello, where the actual F is the girl code!? It seems as though some dodgy stuff went down and the two were very sneaky and went behind Georgie's back with the relationship. Girl... this "Dear John" letter is looking imminent. Anyway, Georgie's Mum's baby daddy concludes their convo with "stay away and don’t go back!"
We are now invited into John's Mum's home and she seems like an absolute sweetheart. Hearing John speak with his mum about Georgie isn't exactly encouraging. When he starts explaining all of Georgie's shortcomings, I think we learn more about John than we do of Georgie. Like his Mum said, they are like oil and water. We guess only time will tell to see if these two have a happy ending.
